Zoo and other happenings....

Last week we went to the zoo. We went on a Friday because we figured it would be less crowded. We got there and there were tons of people there, it was field trip day. We noticed kids from at least 5 schools. We still had fun though. During our picnic lunch there was a big rainstorm and all the classes left. We didn't get to ride the train because of the rain, so we were sad about that. Landon didn't really want to take pictures so he isn't smiling in any of them.

This is one tired boy one afternoon a little while after a nap. I guess he didn't get to nap for long enough.

Matthew the daredevil. He climbed on by himself.

We got Landon a big boy bed. He chose the Lightning McQueen one of course. He loves it. We thought it was going to be very hard to get him to stay in it, but so far so good. (Knock on wood) He hasn't gotten out once for the 2 weeks we've had it.

Landon is my little puzzle buddy. I've always like puzzles, so I'm glad to have a buddy that enjoys them too. Of course we did this 100 piece puzzle together, but he does a good job and works to find where the pieces go.

So, anyway, that is some of the things we have been doing lately.

Freakaphobia

Ok, so we'll admit it, we have weird phobias. Casey HATES wet bread, I can't stand the thought of sucking on a wet wooden spoon. But guess what we found out? We are not alone. Check out this article. That's the power of Google. So if you think you are the only one who can't stand bellybuttons (Omphalophobia), feet (Podophobia), knees (Genuphobia), or bald people (Peladophobia), think again. If it makes you uneasy, there's probably a phobia named after it.

For those of you that hate getting shots, there's a list a mile long for that one:
Fear of needles or pointed objects (Aichmophobia)
Fear of blood (Hemophobia)
Fear of pain (Agliophobia)
Fear of doctors (Iatrophobia)
Fear of hospitals (Nosocomephobia)
Fear of the color white (Leukophobia).

I found a new one a couple of weeks ago when we were watching one of the episodes of the Amazing Race. For those of you who watch that show, you'll remember the recent road block where they had to make a certain amount of noodles before they could leave. Well, at that road block they had the world's smallest person, Pingping.

I don't know what the deals was, but he kind of freaked me out. I'm sure he's nice and all, but I was glad when they finished that whole section of the race. After the episode finished, I was curious, could there be a phobia about small people?

Sure enough, a quick google found achondroplasiaphobia, the fear of little people.

So, the moral of this story is that I found another benefit of the internet. I found out I may be a bit weird, but at least I'm not the only one.

What have we been up to?

We've been camping in the living room. This small tent will entertain these boys for a LONG time, it is fun for all!

Daddy and the boys.

We went up to "Baby Animal Days" in Logan. They had a bunch of animals that we could go in the cage and hold them or just pet them. Landon didn't pet one thing. He wasn't that interested in the animals. We think it is because he saw the little train they had first. We had fun riding on the train. They also had pony rides, but we figured Landon wasn't going to want to wait for that when he didn't even want to touch the other animals.

Landon also enjoyed the old car that he could get in.

This is where I found Matthew this morning, reading something while sitting in the cupboard.

So, that is what we have been up to lately.

Ta Da!!!!

Matthew got his helmet off! He has a round head and a bunch of hair.

See, his hair is long.

We had an Easter Egg hunt at Grandma & Grandpa Proctor's.

Matthew wasn't too sure.

Landon got to pet a baby duck.

Matthew's favorite past time is getting all the wipes out and trying to eat them. He gets really mad when I take them away or put them where he can't get them. Therefore, he gets mad at me a lot. :)

Happy Easter from Landon and his little bunny friend.

Fun Fun

When I was little my mom made us a hopscotch in the basement with scotch tape. We spent hours down there playing and inventing new ways to play hopscotch. Landon saw an episode of Curious George where they played hopscotch and wanted to play himself. He seems to get a lot of ideas from George. Anyway, we made a toddler version, and Landon loved it.

Mr. Cool himself. . . . .

Matthew has learned that the food that Landon gets to eat has a lot more flavor then the food we give to him. He crawls super fast if Landon ever leaves his sippy cup on the floor or somewhere Matthew can reach it. Landon gets really mad when Matthew finds his food, and Matthew gets really mad when Landon takes it away. Here he found Landon's chocolate milk.

Here he found his muffin.

and here he found his banana. :)

When Clint was blessed he wore this little blue outfit. We took a picture of Landon wearing it when he was 7 months old.

We finally got Matthew to try it on, but because Matthew is 9 months old, it was a lot harder to get a picture of him wearing it. He is very mobile and active.

Don't you just love his hair and his little toothy grin with only 2 teeth. :)

Happy Birthday Clint

Matthew has had his helmet now for 7 weeks. The Doctor said he'll probably have to wear it for another 5 weeks. We have noticed big changes in his head shape, but the other thing we've noticed is that hair grows fast in 7 weeks. . . . He will definitely need a haircut when he is out of the helmet.

Look at the long hair, and it will only get longer. :)

We celebrated Clint's birthday this week. He got a chocolate pudding trifle cake. It is huge. We've only ate a little bit even a few days later. If you want some stop on by. :)

Landon was SOOOOO excited for Clint's birthday. He watched for him at the window all day. When Clint finally did get home Landon waited by the door impatiently. The first words he could say were Dad, those are your presents. Clint got them and Landon opened them as fast as he could. Ha. Little kids make birthday's so much more fun. We had a great party. Happy Birthday Clint!

Our birthday activity: attaching balloons to Landon's diaper while he ran around the room.

Matthew has turned into quite the funny kid. The other day he wanted to play with the balloon ribbon. He just kept it in his mouth forever. He would crawl around and the balloon would follow him.
Silly boy!
