Potty trained!

Landon is officially potty trained, hooray! This is him at the beginning of the potty training.

Here he is after he earned this new toy. He did a great job, and we're all glad he doesn't need those diapers anymore.

This picture doesn't relate to potty training. :) It is a family picture taken of us at my friend Nicole's wedding.

July

This month has been pretty busy so far. For the past 7 months I (Casey) have been involved with the YW in our ward doing a "Spectacular." When I graduated from high school I didn't think I'd be back on a football field learning a show again. Now I did not perform with them, but I had to be on the field during it so our stake would know where to go. Do you see me in the orange shirt in the middle. :)

For the 4th of July weekend we went to Melba, Idaho to visit Andy & Candice and the girls. We had a great time seeing all (almost) of our cousins. Thanks Candice & Andy!

Landon with his cousins Jadyn, Bridger, and Cameron on the way to the parade.

Landon getting ready for the parade to start.

Daddy & Matthew enjoying the sunshine.

Landon loved their giant sandbox (aka sand volleyball court).

We also celebrated Landon's 3rd birthday. He got a tool belt for one of his presents. He really does like it even though it doesn't look like it in this picture.

Matthew trying out the headband that I learned how to make in RS. (Laralee I hope you like this kind, I'm sure it will look a lot cuter on your baby girl, but I guess just pretend you didn't see this.)

Landon with his birthday cake.

Landon loves birthdays and he especially loves his birthday. When I was little we got to pick what was for dinner when it was our birthday, so we have continued that. Landon picked Baked Ziti, corn on the cob and Orange soda. What a good boy. We can't believe he is 3.

Matthew's Birthday and Island Park

We went to Island Park with all the Proctors, and somewhere along the way we saw some of the Christensen's. While we were there, we celebrated Matthew's 1st birthday. On the way up we saw Mike, Kelly, Caiden, & Mikayla. Caiden and Landon had so much fun playing Buzz Lightyear.

Matthew got to try out the Rocking horse. He loved it!

Landon liked it too.

Matthew got to open his presents with all of his cousins.

Landon's absolute favorite was riding the 4 wheeler with Daddy. He was always asking if they could go again. He told Clint that we're going to have to get a 4 wheeler sometime.

We took Landon fishing on the river. He thought it was very fun.

Matthew wasn't sure what to think of his birthday cake. He didn't really eat it, and it seemed like he was annoyed my the frosting mess on his hands.

Landon tried smores for the first time, and they were a hit! I tried smores again thinking they would be just as good as I remember, but I was disappointed. Smores don't taste as good as they used to. :)

Landon pretended like he was a bear with the bear rug.

On the way out of town we got to play at Great Grandma Christensen's. She is so cute, and loves to play with the kids. They love her box of old toys.

We had a great time with all the family that we saw. We hope to see everyone else sometime in the near future.

Zoo and other happenings....

Last week we went to the zoo. We went on a Friday because we figured it would be less crowded. We got there and there were tons of people there, it was field trip day. We noticed kids from at least 5 schools. We still had fun though. During our picnic lunch there was a big rainstorm and all the classes left. We didn't get to ride the train because of the rain, so we were sad about that. Landon didn't really want to take pictures so he isn't smiling in any of them.

This is one tired boy one afternoon a little while after a nap. I guess he didn't get to nap for long enough.

Matthew the daredevil. He climbed on by himself.

We got Landon a big boy bed. He chose the Lightning McQueen one of course. He loves it. We thought it was going to be very hard to get him to stay in it, but so far so good. (Knock on wood) He hasn't gotten out once for the 2 weeks we've had it.

Landon is my little puzzle buddy. I've always like puzzles, so I'm glad to have a buddy that enjoys them too. Of course we did this 100 piece puzzle together, but he does a good job and works to find where the pieces go.

So, anyway, that is some of the things we have been doing lately.

Freakaphobia

Ok, so we'll admit it, we have weird phobias. Casey HATES wet bread, I can't stand the thought of sucking on a wet wooden spoon. But guess what we found out? We are not alone. Check out this article. That's the power of Google. So if you think you are the only one who can't stand bellybuttons (Omphalophobia), feet (Podophobia), knees (Genuphobia), or bald people (Peladophobia), think again. If it makes you uneasy, there's probably a phobia named after it.

For those of you that hate getting shots, there's a list a mile long for that one:
Fear of needles or pointed objects (Aichmophobia)
Fear of blood (Hemophobia)
Fear of pain (Agliophobia)
Fear of doctors (Iatrophobia)
Fear of hospitals (Nosocomephobia)
Fear of the color white (Leukophobia).

I found a new one a couple of weeks ago when we were watching one of the episodes of the Amazing Race. For those of you who watch that show, you'll remember the recent road block where they had to make a certain amount of noodles before they could leave. Well, at that road block they had the world's smallest person, Pingping.

I don't know what the deals was, but he kind of freaked me out. I'm sure he's nice and all, but I was glad when they finished that whole section of the race. After the episode finished, I was curious, could there be a phobia about small people?

Sure enough, a quick google found achondroplasiaphobia, the fear of little people.

So, the moral of this story is that I found another benefit of the internet. I found out I may be a bit weird, but at least I'm not the only one.

What have we been up to?

We've been camping in the living room. This small tent will entertain these boys for a LONG time, it is fun for all!

Daddy and the boys.

We went up to "Baby Animal Days" in Logan. They had a bunch of animals that we could go in the cage and hold them or just pet them. Landon didn't pet one thing. He wasn't that interested in the animals. We think it is because he saw the little train they had first. We had fun riding on the train. They also had pony rides, but we figured Landon wasn't going to want to wait for that when he didn't even want to touch the other animals.

the chicken coop

Landon also enjoyed the old car that he could get in.

This is where I found Matthew this morning, reading something while sitting in the cupboard.

So, that is what we have been up to lately.

Matthew's 1st Hair cut

Before:

After:
We bribed him with a sucker.

Here he is with his hair dry and combed.
